A new scheme is being launched to help mentor future Eisteddfodau comperes, adjudicators and coaches.
Cymdeithas Eisteddfodau Cymru (the Association of Welsh Eisteddfods) is teaming up with Urdd Eisteddfod organisers to offer a course for competition winners in the 19-25 age group.
Anni Llŷn, Huw Foulkes and Gavin Ashcroft will provide the training at a special event in Aberystwyth this autumn, including how to run an Eisteddfod stage smoothly, what to look for as an adjudicator and best practice in coaching competitors.
The participants will then be given practical placements at local eisteddfodau before going to shadow experienced comperes, adjudicators and coaches at Urdd district eisteddfodau.
Siân Evans of Cymdeithas Eisteddfodau Cymru said: "We see this scheme as an important step in giving the next generation the opportunity to become part of our Eisteddfod tradition."
"We are very much looking forward to welcoming these young people to the workshop and to our local eisteddfodau, and giving them an insight into the different aspects of the Eisteddfod tradition."
"We hope the young people will enjoy the experience and be inspired to support the development of our traditions and our eisteddfodau."
Five open places are available on the course with applications opening on the Urdd's website soon after this year's National Eisteddfod at Mona comes to an end.
Llio Maddocks, the Urdd's artistic director, added: "We are delighted to launch this new mentoring scheme which, we hope, will encourage a new generation of young people to support the eisteddfod tradition in Wales."
"There is so much talent on display on our eisteddfod stages – talent nurtured by dedicated coaches across the country and refined through fair adjudication, all under the steady guidance of our comperes. This is an opportunity for the next generation to help keep our valuable tradition alive."
