Osian Roberts is Wednesday’s President at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Mona.
Born and raised in Bodffordd, Osian Roberts now lives near Lake Como in Italy. He has four children and two grandchildren.
He served as assistant coach for Wales under Gary Speed, Chris Coleman and Ryan Giggs, and is now Head of Development at Como 1907.
One of his favourite memories of the Urdd is competing in solo recitation, recitation groups and action songs with Ysgol Gynradd Bodffordd and Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni – and he is especially proud that they reached the national stage twice in the action song!
Osian said: “I feel the experiences I had through the Urdd have benefited me enormously throughout my career – learning how to perform, how to communicate, and how to deal with nerves and disappointment.”
”I also learned the importance of practising and putting in the hours – learning how to win, how to lose and how to come to terms with both.”
