Extra police powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in Bangor have been extended for another three years.
The public space protection order (PSPO) has been running in the city centre since 2019.
A public consultation held during the autumn on whether to renew the order received "unaminous support".
North Wales Police says the move ensures they can continue to work with partner organisations - including Cyngor Gwynedd - on addressing ongoing issues on the High Street.
Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson said: "A significant amount of work has been undertaken in the area to build resilience to serious organised crime and reduce crime on the High Street."
"The PSPO remains an essential tool at our disposal to continue this work for the benefit of residents and businesses."
The additional police powers, which is administered by Cyngor Gwynedd's community safety team, are intended to target:
- Behaviour that is likely to cause disturbance, intimidation, nuisance or distress
- Being in a state of intoxication as a result of alcohol or drug induced activity
- Drinking alcohol after the Police have requested a person to stop drinking
- Loitering or performing for reward within 10 meters of a cash point.
Signs have been put up in key areas of Bangor informing people of the restrictions.
Cllr Dilwyn Morgan, the cabinet member for community safety, added: "I am confident that this order will help ensure Bangor continues to be a pleasant place to live, work and study."
"The council works closely with our partners from North Wales Police and the wider community to tackle anti-social behaviour and the PSPO has been a key tool to help us do that."
"The vast majority of people who live in Bangor or who visit the city contribute towards the welcoming and positive atmosphere, and we are eager to see people continue to enjoy everything the city has to offer."
"The purpose of the order is to make it easier for authorities to tackle the small minority of people involved in anti-social behaviour."
