A biker killed in a two-vehicle crash on the A470 Crimea Pass has been named,

Alan Williams (58) from Trefor was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision between a motorbike and a car near Blaenau Ffestiniog last Sunday afternoon.

Paying tribute, his family have described him as "a loving son, brother, uncle, partner and best friend to many people".

In a statement via police, they said: "He was devoted to all his family who he loved very much and would do anything for anyone."

"Alan was an outgoing, hardworking man who had time for everyone. He was well known in the local area, where he worked as a joiner and was always held in high regard by his customers."

"He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and he was well known for the banter that he had with people. He had numerous interests and hobbies including hiking, kayaking, music and local history. He loved animals and being outdoors and he had a keen interest in food."

"In his free time, Alan also enjoyed being out on his motorcycle. He was a keen and passionate motorcyclist. The local community is in shock following his passing."

"We would like to thank those who have reached out during this difficult time. As a family we are absolutely heartbroken and we would now like time to grieve. We ask to be given privacy at this time."

North Wales Police are still appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage following the crash, which happened between Dolwyddelan and Blaenau Ffestiniog shortly after 1.30pm and closed the road for several hours.
