Biker killed in A470 crash

A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash on the A470 near Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving a motorbike and a car on the Crimea Pass shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon (9th August)/

The biker, a 58 year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene - his family are being supported by specialist liaison officers and the local coroner for North West Wales has been informed.

The road was closed for several hours following the crash and police are NOW appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Inspector Tim Evans from the Roads Policing Unit said: "I am grateful to members of the public and all emergency services who responded to the crash, and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the rider who tragically died in this incident."

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area leading up to the time of the collision"
