The body of a missing kayaker has been found washed up on a beach.
Extensive searches were launched after concerns were raised last week for Connor Parfitt and Simon Wilson.
The pair had disappeared last Tuesday evening when they were seen heaving towards the beach off Hafan Y Mir in Pwllheli at around 6.30pm last Tuesday.
It’s believed both men were carrying inflatable kayaks at the time they disappeared.
North Wales Police say a man’s body was discovered on a beach in Aberystwyth at around 12.30pm on Sunday lunchtime.
It’s since been confirmed the body was that of Mr Parfitt, whose family have been informed along with the coroner for North West Wales.
Mr Wilson has still not been found and his family are being supported by specialist liaison officers.
Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson said: “My thoughts remain with both Connor and Simon’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”
“This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for, including the teams involved in the searches.”
”Thank you to partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in our searches over the last six days.“
“We continue to appeal for any information or sightings of Simon to contact us quoting reference no. O120829.”
