A Llandygai man who went on a spree of car thefts with his friend has been jailed for more than three-and-a-half years.
Chester Crown Court heard Ben Evans (20) and Kyle Draper (21) stole vehicles from driveways across North Wales and Cheshire in a spate of burglaries over two days.
On February 2nd, two stolen vehicles, a Hyundai and Seat Arona, were spotted travelling in convoy to Chester, where an Audi Q3 was stolen in the Upton area that evening.
The Audi and the Seat then travelled onto Crewe, where a Volvo was stolen while the Hyundai was dumped and later recovered by police.
The following afternoon, road patrol officers spotted two stolen cars, prompting a high speed pursuit through the West Midlands.
Draper, originally from Cardiff, crashed the Audi he was driving on the M6 in Staffordshire and was quickly arrested.
Evans continued to give chase at high speed in the stolen Volvo until he lost control and crashed in Birmingham city centre, where he was arrested.
The pair's mobile phones were seized and Draper's footwear was found at the address in Upton where the Audi was stolen and Evans' footwear was highly likely to have been at the same address.
Both men pleaded guilty to four burglaries, two thefts and dangerous driving - Evans was sentenced to three years and nine months while Draper was jailed for three and a half years.
PC Jack Ryder from Cheshire Police said: "These two reckless young men targeted so many addresses in such a short period of time, but didn’t count on us closing in on them and stopping them in their tracks, not only with the help of our colleagues in specialist departments but also our colleagues in the West Midlands."
"As a result of our combined efforts we were able to take them down and get justice for the victims. I hope this reassures people that we are relentless in our pursuit of those who break the law."
