An ex-footballer from Llandonna has been charged with assault during a league match.
Thomas Taylor is accused of causing actual bodily harm during the Ardal North West fixture between Porthmadog and Trearddur Bay on 17th January.
North Wales Police confirmed officers were authorised to charge the 36 year-old defender on Wednesday after a case file was sent to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Porthmadog forward Danny Brookwell was treated in hospital for concussion following the alleged assault.
Taylor, who left Trearddur Bay FC shortly after the incident, is also serving an FAW ban from all football-related activity pending the outcome of an investigation.
He is due to appear before magistrates in Caernarfon on Monday 11th May.
