Cyngor Gwynedd has securded funding to upgrade playgrounds across the county.
Work has already been completed at seven playgrounds, where more equipment has been installed, including:
- Cae Glyn, Caernarfon - a basket swing, suitable for disabled children.
- Ffordd Cynan, Penrhosgarnedd – a wheelchair-friendly roundabout
- Maes y Môr, Penygroes – a multi-purpose frame
- Old Skateboard Park, Talysarn – resurfacing the old site with tarmac to enable children to play ball games.
Further work will also take place at other play fields across the county, made possible by grants from the UK and Welsh Governments.
The council's learning disability work opportunities team is also creating special boards to support and encourage communicaitons and ensure everyone can enjoy the play facilities.
Cllr June Jones, cabinet member for municipal assets, said: "With the half-term holidays approaching, we encourage children and families to take advantage of these facilities by getting out and enjoying the local parks and playgrounds."
