Work will start next week on a £140,000 upgrade of the gym at Holyhead Leisure Centre.
Anglesey Council says the refurbishment of the fitness room is being made possible thanks to "significant savings" from newly renegotiated energy contracts.
New TechnoGym equipment including modern cardio machines, three cable crossover stations and pin-loaded strength machines will be installed
A new floor will also be added to the cardio area room as part of the Môn Actif project - and all of the strength machines will be available for use by disabled customers.
Cllr Neville Evans, portfolio holder for leisure, said:"We're delighted to see this investment in Holyhead Leisure Centre, which will provide residents with access to state-of-the-art, inclusive fitness equipment."
"Regular physical activity plays a vital role in maintaining overall health and wellbeing, and we encourage everyone to take full advantage of these improved facilities once they reopen."
"This investment highlights our commitment to supporting healthier, more active communities on Anglesey."
The fitness room at Holyhead will be closed from Tuesday 1st to Tuesday 15th July, while all other facilities at the leisure centre will remain open.
During the closure, Gym and Swim direct debit members will be able to access fitness classes for free by booking. They can also use the fitness rooms at Amlwch, Plas Arthur and David Hughes leisure centres.
Owain Jones, commerical leisure manager for Anglesey Council, added:"This £140,000 investment is a direct result of savings made through renegotiating energy contracts."
"It reflects our commitment under the council plan 2023–28 to invest in leisure infrastructure that increases enjoyment, participation, and community health. We look forward to welcoming our members back to a modernised and more inclusive fitness room very soon."
