A Holyhead man who shot his neighbour with an airgun has been jailed.
Tom Webster admitted wounding the man, who was out walking his dog on Victoria Terrace on New Year's Day 2023.
North Wales Police described the 41 year-old as a "dangerous individual" who carried out "an unprovoked attack".
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Webster shot him in the face and tried to bite his ear before shooting him again in the chest.
The neighbour needed surgery for his injuries.
Webster, who was arrested on the same evening, was sentenced to a year in prison and banned from approaching his victim under a five year restraining order.
Detective Constable Cara Williams from North Wales Police said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply walking his dog in his local area."
“The incident has undoubtedly had a lasting impact on the victim’s feeling of safety, and I hope that this result provides some reassurance to him."
“Webster has proved himself to be a dangerous individual. His behaviour is completely unacceptable and acts of violence such as this will not be tolerated."
“Incidents of this nature are rare in Anglesey, but I would urge anyone with information about individuals carrying weapons to contact police or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
