An inquest has heard an 18 year-old woman from Bangor died after suffering a cardiac arrest at a music festival,

Emergency services were called to a medical emergency at the Carreglwyd estate in Llanfaethlu, where the Tonnau festival was taking place in the early hours of Saturday 11th July.

Lucy Halpin was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where she was pronounced dead.

North West Wales coroner Kate Robertson told the Caernarfon hearing that there was reason to suspect Ms Halpin's death was unnatural, but an official cause of death had yet to be determined.

The inquest was adjourned while enquiries continue.

The Tonnau festival, described as a "family friendly tropical garden party" was cancelled with organisers pledging to co-operate fully with the investigation into Ms Halpin's death.

An online crowdfunding appeal set up in aid of her family has so far raised over £3,530.

Organisers said: "Anyone who knew Lucy would know she was kind, caring and a good friend, everyone around her knew how bright and funny she was. She lit up every room she walked into and put a smile on everyone’s face without fail."

Ms Halpin worked as a support worker and at the Breeze Hill bar and hotel in Benllech.

In their own tribute, a spokesperson said: "Lucy wasn’t just staff, Lucy was a member of our extended family and was treasured by us, our customers and her colleagues, many of whom became her close friends."

"Lucy was caring, funny, clever and always smiling. Lucy was exceptionally good at looking after our customers, many of whom will miss her lots."
