A Llangefni man who sexually assaulted an on-duty police officer has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Llandudno magistrates heard Jason Hender (49) was arrested after two patrol officers intervened in an altercation in the street last Saturday.
The situation - which was said to have put other members of the public at risk - was de-escalated, but then Hender assaulted one of the officers.
He was also found to be in possession of cocaine.
Hender, who pleaded guilty to sexual assault and possession of cocaine, was given a 30-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
He was also added to the sex offenders register and must register with police for ten years.
District Support Sergeant Matt Bentley of North Wales Police said: "This was a humiliating and degrading experience for the officer who was trying to protect members of the community."
"This matter was dealt with quickly and Hender was put in front of the courts in just two days. This should send a clear message that violence against women and girls will not be tolerated."
"This kind of behaviour will be challenged and will not be accepted. We continue to encourage any victim of sexual offences to come forward. We are here to listen, and we will take robust action to bring perpetrators to justice."
