Llangefni residents are being urged by police to help tackle about anti-social behaviour.

North Wales Police says patrols have already been stepped up locally in response - but they need members of the community to report incidents directly for any action to be taken.

The force is also working with Anglesey Council to apply for Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBO) and a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in an effort to prevent incidents such as street drinking and dog fouling.

Sergeant Matt Bentley said: “We’re aware of concerns being raised on local social media pages regarding anti-social behaviour in and around Llangefni."

“We want everyone to feel safe to live, work and visit the area and are working closely with partners to respond to these concerns."

“Unfortunately, we are not receiving reports of these incidents when they are happening. Without this information from the public, it is difficult to act against those causing issues in the local area."

“I would encourage members of the public to report all incidents, even minor, of anti-social behaviour to the council or police, so we have a true reflection of the problems and evidence to apply for protection orders.”
