A newly refurbished boardwalk at Llyn Maelog, near Rhosneigr, has been reopened to the public.
The new structure has been made from sustainably-sourced recycled plastic ensuring considerably greater longevity than the previous timber structure and improving access to local green spaces.
The 332m boardwalk passes through a section of reed beds along the banks of Llyn Maelog - an important envrionmental site designated one of special scientific interest due to its unique ecological and geological features.
It also forms part of Anglesey's 'national landscape', formerly known as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Two councillors representing the Crigyll ward have welcomed the new boardwalk.
Cllr Neville Evans (Plaid Cymru), who holds the leisure portfolio, said: "Llyn Maelog is a valued part of our local community, and we're delighted to see the SPF funded work now completed and the boardwalk open to all once again."
Cllr Douglas Fowlie (Annibynwyr Môn) added: "The new boardwalk looks fantastic. It's significant improvement on the old one and will ensure that it remains accessible for residents and visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of Llyn Maelog and the surrounding area for many years to come."
"Thank you to everyone who has worked hard on the project, to replace the old damaged and dangerous boardwalk."
The new boardwalk, which is also a public right of way is 1.2m wide with a splay at the beginning (the south west end), one passing bay and a wider viewpoint area at the end (the north east end).
Anglesey Council leader Gary Pritchard added: "I'm pleased to see such an important community asset refurbished. Hopefully, it will encourage more people to walk along this public right of way and others in the area, as a means of improving their health."
"I'd also like to thank our Destination Team for securing this vital SPF backing and AE&AT Lewis for doing such a great job."
Work to replace the boardwalk was funded by the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund and carried out by Anglesey-based, A E & A T Lewis Ltd.
