A man has died after he was hit by a van on the A487 Caernarfon bypass.
The 64 year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision near Bontnewydd, which occurred at around 8.30pm on Sunday night.
His next of kin have been informed, along with the coroner for North West Wales.
The road remained closed between Bontnewydd and the Llanwnda roundabout for several hours, but it has since reopened.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the collision to come forward.
Sgt Katie Davies from the roads policing unit at North Wales Police said: "I share my deepest condolences with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time."
"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact police."
"I am also appealing to anyone who was travelling along the A487 prior to 8.30pm yesterday evening and saw a man walking along the bypass to contact us."
