A 36 year-old man has died he fell from Crib Goch in Eryri.
Emergency services - including the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team - were called to the national park at around 11.30am on Saturday morning, following reports of a man falling from the ridge.
He was rescued by helicopter but pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has yet to be formally identified, but his next of kin and the local coroner have been informed.
Inspector Jamie Owens from North Wales Police said: "My deepest condolences remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time. Our investigation into the circumstances of this tragic incident is ongoing."
