A man has been jailed after he spat at two police officers while resisting arrest in Porthmadog.
The constables attempted to arrest Joshua Atkinson on Tuesday after he breached a court order.
The 31 year-old from Dolgellau pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to 36 weeks in prison when he appeared before Llandudno magistrates the following day.
District Inspector Iwan Jones of North Wales Police said: "Any abuse directed towards emergency workers is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated."
"Our officers come to work each day to keep the public safe, and they deserve to carry out their duties without fear of assault."
"We will continue to take robust action against anyone who threatens the safety of our officers or the wider community."
