A man who twice assaulted his vulernable elderly father has been jailed for 15 months.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Martin Kusnierik, originally from Slovakia, was supposed to be caring for his dad when he pinned him down and pressed his elbow into his chest with force.
In another incident, Kusnierik's father groaned in pain after he was hit by his son.
The 36 year-old of no fixed abode was found guilty of assault causing physical harm and assault by beating.
Detective Constable Peter Hooker from North Wales Police said: "Kusnierik attacked a vulnerable elderly man when he should have been there to care for him. He then tried to defend his actions instead of admitting to and showing remorse for the assaults."
"We will continue to do everything in our power to protect vulnerable people from those who seek to cause them harm and bring offenders to justice."
Kusnierik, who was also given a five-year restraining order to protect his dad, faces automatic deportation upon his release.
