A community hub in Penygroes has won the praise of a Welsh Government minister.
Yr Orsaf has benefited from a £155,000 community facilities grant, along with funding raised locally and from other sources.
The multi-purpose centre on Water Street now houses a café, offices and accommodation, along with a wide range of services such as electric community transport, activites for older people, digital workshops for young people, monthly repair cafés and food & wellbeing projects including a community pantry.
Ben Gregory, who works as a staff member at Yr Orsaf, said: "We are very grateful for the support from the Welsh Government."
"Activities in the building range from a coding club to providing a temporary home for our food pantry, from music sessions for young people to our successful film club - which was nominated once again this year for an Into Film award."
"The building has enabled us to offer children and young people valuable experiences, and opportunities that continue to grow."
Yr Orsaf is based at the former Siop Griffiths, one of the longest serving buisnesses in Penygroes, which closed in 2010 after nearly a centurry of trading.
The building deteriorated after being left empty for several years, until local volunteers launched a fundraising campaign to buy it - which they did in 2016, before expanding the site three years later.
The Welsh Government says the thriving community hub now serves as a vital resource for people across the Dyffryn Nantlle area.
Social justice secretary Jane Hutt, who visited Yr Orsaf earlier this year, said: "What strikes me most about Yr Orsaf is how it truly belongs to this community."
"The passion and dedication I witnessed shows exactly why we believe in supporting grassroots facilities like this. When we invest in places like Yr Orsaf, we're investing in the heart of Welsh communities".
