The Anglesey Showground will play host to Can i Gymru 2026, S4C has confirmed.
Entries are now open for the annual songwriting contest, which will be broadcast live from Mona on Saturday 28th February.
In August, S4C announced the contest would be held at Anglesey for the first time in a decade - although the exact venue had not been confirmed until now.
It's a big year for the the Mona showground, which will also play host to the 2026 Urdd National Eisteddfod in May.
Last year's competition, held at the Dragon Studios in Bridgend, was won by Carmarthenshire band Dros Dro with the song 'Troseddwr yr Awr' (Criminal of the Hour).
Lead singer Efa said: "I grew up watching Cân i Gymru. Ever since I could remember – every March watching Cân i Gymru. There are huge benefits being part of something so big and has been going for so long – it could change your life, as it has changed ours."
"It's opened doors to some fantastic opportunities that we would have never had if we hadn’t applied, so go ahead and write a song that means something to you, go for it!"
A £5,000 prize and a trophy is on offer for the composer of the winning song with £3,000 for the runner-up and £2,000 for third prize.
Candelas lead singer Osian Huw Williams, a former co-winner of the competition, is back to chair the judging panel.
He said: "I’m so excited that Cân i Gymru is coming back to North Wales once again. I encourage everyone of all ages to try, especially if you’re in a young band. Go for it! Don’t think about former winners, we’d love to hear what YOU have to say."
Joining Osian on the jury will be Celt guitarist Barry 'Archie' Jones, singer-songwriter Mali Hâf, broadcaster Mirain Iwerydd and Gwilym frontman Ifan Pritchard.
Mali said: "I was delighted to be invited to be on the Cân i Gymru jury. The competition has been part of my journey as a musician. As a musician myself, I know how special it is to write a song."
"I’m looking forward to hearing brand new music and tunes that haven’t seen the light of day yet. I love experimenting when composing so I’m keen to hear various genres. I’m looking for something colourful, a story, some imagination and something catchy that’s going to stay in my head."
The final will be presented by Trystan Ellis-Morris and Elin Fflur, whose career took off when she won in 2003 after performing one of the best known winning entries from the contest's history 'Harbwr Diogel'.
An S4C spokesperson said audience tickets for the conest will be available soon.
