For the fourth year running, beach wheelchairs are being made available at Anglesey beaches during the summer.
Anglesey Council says it's expanding its fleet of specially adapted wheelchairs designed for use on sand thanks to grant funding from Natural Resources Wales.
Two adult beach wheelchairs and one child beach wheelchair will be available for hire at Benllech beach, along with one adult and one child wheelchair at Llanddwyn.
The wheelchairs have large, smooth tyres and a rugged frame, making it possible to travel across soft sand and improving access to the beach.
In addition, a moveable 'Mobi-Mat' - made from recyclable plastic - has been installed to improve access to the beach at Newborough.
The council's maritime service is also employing seasonal beach wardens to help visitors on beaches across the island.
Owen Davies, a warden for Anglesey's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), said: "Anglesey's coastline is something people really value, and it's important that as many people as possible can experience it first-hand."
"Whether it's Benllech or Llanddwyn, seeing visitors being able to get down onto the sand and enjoy the beach is really rewarding, and this service helps make that possible."
The scheme has been made possible through a partnership between the county council, NRW, beach wardens and The Bay Café in Benllech in an effort to help make the Anglesey coast more accessible for everyone.
Cllr Alun Roberts, who holds the leisure portfolio, added: "This scheme supports the council plan's priorities around wellbeing, inclusion and helping people to live well in their communities."
"By expanding beach wheelchair provision, we are helping more residents and visitors to access and enjoy Anglesey's coastline safely and independently, and we are grateful to Natural Resources Wales and all partners involved in delivering this service."
Booking in advance for the beach wheelchairs is essential for all users - particularly for Llanddwyn beach, with visitors advised to book at least one week ahead due to demand and staffing capacity.
To book a wheelchair at Llanddwyn, email Natural Resources Wales at niwbwrch@cyfoethnaturiolcymru.gov.uk to check availability and make arrangements.
