An Anglesey-based hub for people who have fled war-torn countries was among the winners at this year's Wales Safer Communities Awards.
The Môn Diverse Community Hub was launched in January to provide a supportive space for individuals and families who have settled on the island after fleeing conflict in countries such as Afghanistan, Ukraine and Syria.
The Anglesey Council scheme helps residents build realtionships in their communitiy and access vital services through acivities such as yoga, Welsh language lessons, creative workshops, volunteering opportunities and visits to heritage sites.
Over 400 attendees have used the hub since its launch, with both new and long-standing residents now taking part.
It won the Equalities, Inclusion and Cohesion category at the Wales Safer Communities Awards.
Cllr Carwyn Jones, who holds the housing and community safety portfolio, said: "I am incredibly proud that the Môn Diverse Community Hub has been recognised nationally for its positive impact on community safety, inclusion, and wellbeing."
"This award reflects the dedication of our staff, partners, volunteers, and the families who attend every week. The hub embodies the very best of Anglesey - warm, welcoming, supportive and shows what can be achieved when communities come together."
North Wales Police also regularly attends hub sessions to allow users to report any concerns, including hate crimes, particularly during community tension.
Organisations such as Warm Wales, Mon CF, and Carers Outreach help address vulnerabilities linked to housing, employment, and caring responsibilities.
In addition, the council has been hosting events such as Refugee Week to help dispel misinformation surrounding asylum and refugee schemes.
Ned Michael, head of housing services at Anglesey Council, added: "This national recognition highlights the fantastic work being done through the Môn Diverse Community Hub, and the difference it is making to people's lives."
"It also reflects our commitment, as set out in the council plan, to work in partnership to support refugees who come to live on the island."
"The hub has created a safe, trusted space where people can build relationships, access support, and contribute to our communities. We are proud of what has been achieved and look forward to continuing this important work."
