Cllr Non Dafydd has been elected as the new chair of Anglesey Council.
The Plaid Cymru councillor, who represents the Canolbarth Môn ward, was first elected to the local authority at the 2022 council elections.
Cllr Dafydd, who lives in Llandygarn, is also an office manager for Plaid leader Rhun Ap Iorwerth's constituency office in Llangefni. She also has a small jewellery making business called Miri Mwyn.
Her nomination was backed during the council's annual meeting on Tuesday.
Cllr Dafydd said: "To be elected as chair of the council is a great honour and I would like to thank my fellow councillors for putting their trust in me."
"I’ll work to the best of my ability to be a good ambassador for the county council, our island and its residents. I'm really looking forward to my year in office and I’ll carry out my civic duties with great pride."
As a single mother, Non doesn't have much free time, but enjoys acting at Theatr Fach, and can often be seen at Llangefni Rugby Club, taking pictures and making videos of some of the matches.
As a farmer’s daughter, she is more comfortable in wellies, doing physical work and looking after the animals than she is in an office.
But, as a councillor, Non says she is very proud to be able to work to help people in whichever way possible and takes great pleasure in doing so too.
Cllr Dafydd Rhys Thomas, who represents the Ynys Gybi ward as an independent, was elected as the council's vice-chair for 2025/26.
