A pensioner from Blaenau Ffestiniog has been arrested following allegations of historic child sex offences.
Detectives say the man in his 80s was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of mutliple offences of indecent assault.
He remains in custody at St Asaph police station while enquiries continue.
North Wales are urging the public not to speculate about the case on social media or name anyone linked with the investigation.
Detective Superintendent Chris Bell said: "We will ruthlessly seek out and pursue information relating to inappropriate sexual activity across North Wales."
"We urge anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to come forward no matter when it happened. It is never too late."
"We remain dedicated to seeking justice for victims and I reassure you that you will be listened to, supported by specialist officers and that your report will be fully investigated."
"Due to this being an active investigation, I urge members of the public not to speculate or name anyone linked to this investigation."
