Police are urging motorists and parents to be vigilant after two children were hit by vehicles in separate accidents in Gwynedd.
A nine year-old child was struck last Friday afternoon after riding a bike down an embankment in Bangor.
On the same day, a five year-old was injured after running out onto the road before they collided with a vehicle in Criccieth. A third incident involving a four-year old occurred on Maesdu Road in Llandudno.
North Wales Police said none of the children involved were seriously injured, but the outcome "could have been very different."
Inspector Leigh Evans said: "We are calling on everyone to ensure children are supervised and kept safe near our roads. We know it can be difficult to keep a watchful eye all the time; however, these recent incidents just show the importance of remaining vigilant."
"We also urge motorists to remain vigilant for child pedestrians – especially in built up areas. Children also need to pay attention and look and listen for traffic."
"Children are some of our most vulnerable road users and their safety is paramount – keeping children safe on our roads is a shared responsibility, and whilst children and young people are learning to navigate traffic safely, drivers must remain vigilant, slow down and anticipate the unpredictable movements of children."
