Police are investigating an alleged spate of hay bale thefts from rural parts of Anglesey, Conwy and Wrexham.
North Wales Police's rural crime unit says hay and silage remain valuable commodities - and thieves are known to be targeting bales stored in isolated fields or areas with unrestricted vehicle access.
It's not known whether the thefts are linked but detectives say it can lead to significant financial losses and disrupt farming operations.
Farmers and landowners are being urged to store bales as close to occupied buildings or farmyards as possible and secure field entrances with gates, chains and quality padlocks.
They're also advised to restrict access routes, be vigilant for unfamiliar vehicles - particularly flatbed trailers or machinery operating at unusual times - and consider using CCTV or trail cameras.
