A nine-hour search for a missing diver of the Llyn Peninsula has been called off.
HM Coastguard said the alarm was raised at around 1.15pm on Thursday afternoon, following reports of one person in difficulty off Porth Ysgaden, near Tudweiliog.
Local coastguard teams from the Porthdinllaen, Aberdaron, Abersoch and Llandrwog areas took part in the search, along with the RNLI lifeboat from Porthdinllaen.
The coastguard helicopter from Caernarfon and a fixed-wing plane were also involved in the operation, which was stood down at just after midnight with no one found.
North Wales Police said it was continuing to carry out searches on land.
