Welsh learners working at Anglesey Council have helped raise money for next year's Urdd National Eisteddfod.
Staff taking an intermediate class held a cake sale at the Anglesey Business Centre in Llangeni earlier this month.
It also provided them with an opportunity to practice their language skills while talking to colleagues and visitors.
Elin Davies, a workplace tutor from Learn Welsh in the North West, said: "The class really enjoyed organising the event. It gave them the opportunity to practise their skills in a real setting and to support a cause that means so much locally."
"We are proud to have played a small part in helping the Urdd Eisteddfod to come to Anglesey."
The 'Cymraeg and Cake' sale coincided with 'Defnyddia dy Gymraeg' ('Use Your Welsh'), an annual campaign led by the Welsh Language Commissioner which encourages people to and celebrate the language.
Cllr Dafydd Roberts, who holds the education and Welsh language portfolio, added: "We’re grateful for the support of everyone who attended the event - it brings us closer to making the 2026 Eisteddfod a memorable celebration of the Welsh language and culture."
"This has also been an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and progress of our Welsh learners and their tutors."
All proceeds from the sale will go towards Europe's biggest youth festival - the Urdd National Eisteddfod - which will be held at the Mona showground for a whole week next Spring.
Urdd arts director Llio Maddocks said: "One of the main aims of the Eisteddfod is to give children and young people opportunities to enjoy themselves through the medium of Welsh."
"It’s great to see that learners from Anglesey are raising money to ensure that more of our young people can take advantage of these opportunities. Thank you very much to the council's staff for their support — we look forward to chatting with you in Welsh at the Urdd Eisteddfod on Anglesey."
