Two people and a dog were rescued after a yacht ran into difficulty near Menai Bridge.
The 38ft vessel suffered propulsion problems as it was attempting to pick up a mooring on Sunday afternoon.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat from Beaumaris was sent to the scene just before 2pm, along with a small inflatable craft from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, which had been diverted from training.
After some difficulty, the yacht was eventually moored while the occupants on board were taken to shore at Port Penrhyn.
An RNLI Beaumaris spokesperson said: "The first informant did the correct thing in alerting the Coastguard to the perceived predicament of the boat and her crew."
"This meant our volunteer lifeboat crew were able to reach the casualty quickly, assess the situation and take the best course of action to prevent the situation worsening."
