Caernarfon Town will begin their defence of the Welsh Cup with a replay of last season's final against Flint Town United.

The Cofis won the silverware for the first time in their history last April, beating the Silkmen 3-0 in the showpiece at Newport's Rodney Parade.

The second round draw, announced on Tuesday night, sees Caernarfon travel to Cae y Castell, where Danny Holmes has recently taken over as manager following the sacking of Lee Fowler.

Caernarfon, under Richard Davies, are currently fourth in the Cymru Premier with seven wins from their first eleven games, while Flint are eleventh with just one win.

The Northern section of the draw sees Cymru North club Porthmadog drawn away to face Connah's Quay Nomads of the top flight.

Port needed penalties to beat Penrhyncoch following a 1-1 draw in the first round, but Chris Jones' side have made a good start to the league campaign with five wins from their opening nine games.

Holyhead Hotspur, who won 3-2 at home to Caersws, are drawn away to face Bala Town, one of four second-tier clubs given a bye into round one.

Bangor City 1876, who beat Mold Alex on penalties after a 3-3 draw, travel to Denbigh Town in their first cup game under new manager Huw Griffiths.

City reached the semi-finals of last season's competition, before being knocked out by Flint in a 5-1 defeat.

Llanuwchllyn will also be on the road to face Newtown in another all-Cymru North clash, after beating Llanberis on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Llangefni Town's reward for a 5-0 demolition of Hawarden Rangers is an away tie at Cymru North club Brickfield Rangers, who knocked out last season's semi-finalists CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

And Ardal North West club Y Felinheli, who demolished Meliden 11-0 last Thursday, are rewarded with a second round trip to face another third tier club, Cefn Albion of the Ardal North East.

Dolgellau Athletic, who won 4-3 at Gaerwen in the first round proper, are drawn away at Penycae.

Ties will be played on the weekend of Friday 16th and Saturday 17th October.
