
Team Ynys Môn will go for gold in the men's football final as the 2025 Island Games in Orkney reaches its climax.
The 2023 runners-up will aim to go one better when they take on Bermuda in the showpiece at the Kirkwall Grammar School on Friday afternoon (3.30pm kick off).
Team Môn beat the Isle of Man 1-0 in Thursday's semi-final with Liam Morris scoring his third goal in two games from the penalty spot shortly before half time.
Their opponents, Bermuda, needed extra time to pull off one of the shocks of the Games, beating defending champions Jersey 3-2.
Harrison Moon had put the Channel Islanders in front before sub Andrew Armstrong equalised late in the second half.
Jersey regained the lead in extra time via Sonny Cassidy, only for Bermuda to hit back with two goals in two minutes from Kenny Mills and Jace Donawa.
In the women's tournament, Team Môn secured fifth place after a 4-1 play-off win over Jersey - thanks to a first half hattrick for Casi Evans and a goal for Menna Evans. Ella Brennand replied for Jersey in the 62nd minute.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Ynys Môn's sailing squad earned two silver medals on the water.
Alistair Dickson, Catherine Elson, Josh Metcalfe and Ben Todd were runners-up to the Isle of Wight in the team event with Guernsey taking the bronze, while Metcalfe also won silver in the ILCA 7 category.
Arthur Farley of the Isle of Wight won gold with his teammate Harry White clinching the bronze.
Going into the final day of competition, Team Môn have won a total of six medals - including gold for Beca Bown in the women's 1500m and Ffion Roberts in the women's 400m.
On Wednesday, Roberts also clinched silver on the track in the women's 200m on Wednesday, with a time of 24.66 seconds, just four tenths behind Orkney's Taylah Paterson (24.22), who also won the 100m title. Katie Dinwoodie from Shetland took the bronze (24.87).
Calla Woodcock won the bronze medal in the Women's SET Individual Beam gymnastics on Monday.
