One person is due to appear in court following an incident in Trefor on the Llŷn Peninsula.
North Wales Police say they are aware of concerns within the local community after officers were called to the village at around 6pm last Friday evening.
The incident was contained and one person was arrested and later charged in connection - they have been remanded in custody.
Detectives have given no further details about what happened but they are urging the public to avoid speculation on social media.
They added there was no wider risk to the public and police maintained a visible presence in the area over the weekend.
Detective Sergeant Jones of Western CID said: “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and so there will continue to be a visible police presence in the area today. However, we would like to reassure residents that there is no wider risk to the public."
“We are aware of speculation circulating on social media regarding the incident. We would encourage members of the public not to speculate as this can cause unnecessary concern and may impact ongoing investigations."
