Plaid Cymru have retained an Anglesey Council seat in the Bro’r Llynnoedd ward following a by-election.
Jon Paul Taylor won Thursday's poll with 551 votes, defeating Reform UK candidate Richard John Jones by a majority of 105.
The by-election was triggered by the death of former Plaid councillor Ken Taylor in May.
The full result of the Bro’r Llynnoedd by-election was as follows:
- Jon Paul Taylor (Plaid Cymru): 551
- Richard John Jones (Reform UK Wales): 446
- Margaret Fredericka John (Welsh Conservative): 93
- Nick Bounds (Welsh Green Party): 45
The Bro’r Llynnoedd ward is also represented on the county council by Independent Group councillor Gwilym O Jones.
It was the second Anglesey Council by-election to be held so far this year - and the first to be held since the Senedd elections in May, where Plaid formed a minority Welsh Government.
With less than a year to go before council elections, Plaid retains overall control with 18 seats, with seven seats held by the Annibynwyr Môn group, four seats for The Independent Group, three seats for Welsh Labour and two seats held by independent councillors.
