A motor yacht with two people on board was rescued after losing her propeller in the Puffin Sound area.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat from Beaumaris was called out at just before 7.55pm on Sunday evening afer the yacht broke down near the Menai Strait.
The crew determined the yacht would present a navigational hazard to other vessels in an area with a strong tidal flow and expected freshening winds.
As no other suitable vessel was nearby, the yacht was towed by the lifeboat to a safe mooring at Port Penrhyn with both occupants, who were wearing lifejackets, choosing to remain onboard.
A RNLI Beaumaris spokesperson said: "The informant did the correct thing in alerting the Coastguard to the situation. This meant our volunteer lifeboat crew were able to reach the location quickly and help out."
