Developers have secured a £1.25 million loan to build six new homes in Talwrn, near Llangefni.

The Bryn Brochon development is aimed at helping to meet ongoing demand for "modern, energy efficient" housing.

Four years ago, the site was brought as part of the first project for RJD Developments, which was formed as a joint venture in 2020 by partners Dylan Southen and Robert John Williams.

It's one of a number of local businesses to have secured the backing of the Development Bank of Wales.

Robert said: "We’re very pleased to be progressing our first development as RJD. Talwrn is a brilliant community, and Bryn Brochon will offer a high‑quality mix of homes that suit local needs."

"The Development Bank’s continued support gives us confidence as we take this first project forward, and we’re grateful for the constructive way they’ve helped us move from early discussions to delivery."

Two three-bed detached bungalows are being built at Bryn Brochon along with one pair of three-bed semi-detached homes and another pair of two-bed semi-detached homes, including an affordable two-bed unit.

The project was also eligible for the Green Homes incentive scheme, with air source heat pumps being installed at the new propeties on site.

Keith Clements, property development executive at the Development Bank of Wales, added: "RJD Developments combine hands‑on construction knowledge with strong project leadership, and Bryn Brochon is a great example of the type of Welsh‑led housing scheme we want to support."

"The development will bring well‑designed homes to Talwrn, including an affordable property for local people. We’re pleased to be working with Dylan and Robert as they deliver their first project together under the RJD banner."

Among other projects supported by the Development Bank of Wales, £1.25m has been spent on renovating two holiday homes in Rhosneigr and Bull Bay.

Rib Ride Adventure Boat Tours secured £150,000 to buy a new state-of-the art inflatable craft to extend its visitor season on the Menai Strait while Ecodetect was given £490,000 to to scale AI-driven technology for offshore renewables.
