Detectives say they remain determined to find answers following the death of a newborn baby girl found in Bangor.

It's one month to the day since Ceri's body was discovered by a member of the public on the shoreline near Siliwen Road.

But despite numerous direct appeals from authorities, her mother - who has yet to be identified - has not come forward.

A post-mortem examination suggested the body may have been in the water for up to a few weeks before the discovery on September 27th, although tests are continuing.

North Wales Police says it is following all possible lines of enquiry, having reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and sent out over 2000 lefeats to people living and working in the city.

They are also working with experts around the UK on a number of specialist tests which may provide further information

Superintendent Llinos Davies said: "We remain determined to get answers for Baby Ceri."

"Officers are tirelessly investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and are continuing to appeal to her mother, father or family to come forward."

"This has been a heartbreaking case for the community of Bangor and beyond."

"The support and compassion we’ve received has been unwavering as we continue to appeal for any information that could be relevant to finding out what happened to Baby Ceri."

"Our dedicated phone line for Baby Ceri’s mother remains available at all times to speak to a trained specialist who will listen and support her."

Ceri's mother can call or text any time on 07974 241 223.

Anyone with any information should contact North Wales Police on 101, quoting Operation Melex, or by visiting a special major incident page.
