A court has heard a burglar used an axe to break into an elderly couple's home in Amlwch as they slept.
Callum Jones was jailed after he admitted breaking into two neighbouring houses on Bull Bay Road last November.
North Wales Police said the 19 year-old from Bangor caused "considerable distress" to his victims.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Jones broke into the porch and garage of the couple's home and switched off their mains gas, leaving them cold in the middle of winter.
On the same night, he broke into the shed of a neighbouring property and caused further damage.
Jones was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary and theft.
At the time of the burglaries, he was also serving a previous suspended sentence, which was activated, meaning he will serve a total of three years and four months.
Following sentencing on Monday, Detective Constable Erin Davies said: "Callum Jones is well-known in the local area for causing issues in the community."
"This sentencing will be a relief to those who he has impacted, knowing that he will not be able to cause further harm to the residents of Amlwch."
"Everyone should feel safe inside their own home but Jones’ actions caused considerable distress to those he targeted."
"We continue to work closely with partners, local communities, and victims to prevent offending, support those affected, and deliver justice."
Jones also banned from approaching his victims under a ten-year restraining order.
