Five people were rescued after a pleasure craft broke down north of Porthdinllaen over the Bank Holiday.
The boat had suffered mechanical failure when the RNLI were called to assist at around 6.50pm on Sunday evening.
Efforts to fix the problem were unsuccessful and the all-weather lifeboat from Porthdinllaen towed the pleasure craft approximately two miles to a safe mooring within the hour.
The craft's occupants remained on board following the rescue.
Dylan Thomas, press officer at RNLI Porthdinllaen, said: "Unluckily for the vessel, despite attempts to repair the fault, this proved unsuccessful."
"As always, we are glad to be of assistance and advise all that go to sea, whether for pleasure or livelihood, to ensure that they have a means of calling for assistance and carry the proper safety equipment."
