An inquest has been opened and adjourned following the death of a 53 year-old man in a Holyhead flat.
Michael Ward was pronounced dead at Llys Waitling on London Road in the early hours of Saturday 17th October.
His son, Martin Ward (33), from Holyhead, has been charged with murder.
A post-mortem examination found Mr Ward, originally from Wolverhampton, died from neck and chest injuries.
North West Wales assistant coroner Sarah Riley said emergency services were called to the flat following a report of a cardiac arrest.
Mr Ward, who was described by his family as "a loving family man with a big heart", was pronounced dead shortly after 3am.
The hearing in Caernarfon was adjourned until a later date while criminal proceedings continue.
Martin Ward has been remanded in custody until a plea hearing in January.
