The RNLI at Trearddur Bay has welcomed its first female launch authority in the station's history.
Harriet McCann, now co-ordinates rescues across the UK within HM Coastguard.
She now volunteers as a deputy launch authority at Trearddur Bay, having spent six years as a crew member at Holyhead lifeboat station.
Harriet and her husband Leigh are also preparing to run next year's London Marathon to raise money for the RNLI.
She said: "I am excited to take on this new role in the station. I have known the crew for years and am honoured to be part of a group of dedicated individuals. Joining the management team and contributing to others' growth is a challenge I am eager and prepared to embrace."
A launch authority is the first point of contact following a 999 call to the Coastguard, ensuring which lifeboat is most suitable and that the crew is appropriately tasked.
No lifeboat can be launched on a shout or an exercise without the authority's agreement.
They also ensure boats and equipment at the lifeboat station are maintained in a constant state of readiness.
Mark Smith, a fellow deputy launch authority at Treaddur Bay added: "We are delighted to have Harriet join us. She is a great addition to our operations team and will bring a wealth of knowledge to the crew."
