Three sailors were rescued after their boat ran aground near Llanfwrog on Monday afternoon.
The 40ft vessel had travelled from the Isle of Man and was en-route to Penrhos when it was carried off course and inland by the wind.
The crew attempted to lay anchor but this failed and the boat landed on rocks near the location known as Porth Dryw, where they became stuck.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat from Holyhead was called out just beore 4.40pm with a four-strong volunteer crew on board.
The casualties, who were all well, were taken back to shore at Llanfwrog while their boat - which appeared to be watertight - was left at the location in the hope it would refloat when the waters rose.
Sion Owens, helm at RNLI Holyhead, said: "The sailors were experienced and well-equipped, and simply were unlucky with the weather and tides. This incident shows how an early call to the Coastguard means further issues can often be avoided."
