Two people were rescued from a drifting jet ski after it broke down near Criccieth.
The RNLI at Abersoch was sent out by the Coastguard at just after 5.25pm last Saturday evening when the jet ski suffered mechanical failure.
It was spotted drifting towards the castle from Black Road Sands.
The B-class inshore lifeboat was launched 15 minutes after the call with only limited information about what happened, gaining further details en-route.
By the time they arrived, the stranded jet-ski was found some distance from the shoreline - and the lifeboat took both casualties on board.
Both were said to be feeling the effects of the cold after being adrift for a number of hours due to the wind and tide conditions. They were taken ashore before being handed over to the local coastguard team for further treatment.
Although they were both wearing drysuits, only one of the casualties was wearing a lifejacket at the tim.
Andy Gunby, volunteer helm at RNLI Abersoch, said: "Please ensure that you wear the correct PPE for the conditions, lifejackets are essential as is a means of calling for help."
"If you get into difficulty make the call for assistance early rather than waiting, entering the water or leaving your vessel. You are much harder to spot if you are in the water away from your craft’."
