Reform UK has gained its first seat on Anglesey Council after winning a by-election in the Ynys Gybi ward.
Celfyn Furlong took the seat, previously held by Plaid Cymru, with 603 votes in Thursday's poll - a majority of 260 over Plaid runner-up Bethan Jones.
It's the latest in a series of by-election gains on Welsh councils for Nigel Farage's party, which is considered to be in a two-horse race with Plaid in the run-up to the Senedd elections in May.
Reform's newly-appointed leader in Wales, Dan Thomas, said: "This is a sensational victory for Reform, and it shows that we can win absolutely anywhere here in Wales."
"From the former Labour heartlands to the former Plaid heartlands, we are fighting for every single vote so we can deliver the change Wales desperately needs."
The by-election was triggered by the death of long-serving councillor and former FAW president Trefor Lloyd Hughes in November, at the age of 77.
The full result is as follows:
- Celfyn Furlong (Reform) - 603
- Bethan Jones (Plaid Cymru) - 343
- Mary Roberts (Labour) - 171
- Nick Bounds (Green Party) - 118
- Margaret John (Conservative) - 112
- Robert Williams (Independent) - 26
Turnout was 33.3% with one ballot paper rejected.
Plaid Cymru now has 19 seats on Anglesey Council, with 11 independent councillors, three Labour councillors and one each from the Liberal Democrats and Reform UK.
Ynys Gybi is also represented by county councillors Keith Roberts (Labour) and Dafydd Rhys Thomas (Independent)
