A writer and author from Llanfairpwll will be inducted into the Gorsedd at the 2026 National Eisteddfod in Pembrokeshire.
Malachy Edwards published his first volume, Y Delyn Aur ('The Gold Harp') in 2023, which went onto reach the shortlist for the Wales Book of the Year Awards.
He writes a weekly column for Golwg and his second volume, Paradwys Goll ('Paradise Lost'), was published last year. He is also the vice-chair of PYST and works as a trade union officer.
Both books are personal memoirs exploring the identity of a mixed-race, multicultural black Welshman.
Malachy will be admitted with the green robes - for contribution to the arts - on the Maes in Llantod, Pembrokeshire, this August.
A Gorsedd Cymru spokesperson said: "As one of the leading voices of the black Welsh-speaking community, he plays a significant role in reshaping perceptions of Welsh speakers and is an inspiration to Welsh speakers and learners from all backgrounds."
The annual honours recognise individuals from across the country for their commitment to Wales, the Welsh language and their local communities.
Among the more familiar names on this year's rollcall of inductees are footballers Joe Allen and Angharad James, singer Aleighcia Scott, broadcasters Heledd Cynwal and Mari Grug, musician Ryland Teifi and actress Gillian Elisa.
The winners of the main competitons at this year's Urdd National Eisteddfod, taking place at the Mona showground on Anglesey, will also be inducted with the green robes.
